CBD is one of the most popular cannabinoid compounds in the whole world and the main reason for its popularity is the therapeutic properties it has. Today, CBD is being widely used as a natural remedy for many of the health disorders that affect the human body.

CBD oil benefits include the treatment of a number of health issues that affect us. For the past few years, CBD is being widely used for the treatment of anxiety, depression, pain, insomnia, nausea, Alzheimer’s disease, skin problems, etc. Many countries in the world have legalized the use of CBD products and this includes the United States also. As per the Farm Bill that came to effect in 2018, the hemp-derived products are made federally legal inside the country.

CBD is one of the most predominant cannabinoid compounds present in the hemp and marijuana plants. Even though CBD is present in both these plants, it is mainly extracted from the hemp plant because the THC content in the marijuana plant is very high.

Drug Tests For Cannabis

The urine drug tests mainly look for the presence of alcohol, opiates, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, and cocaine. The urine drug test for cannabis is an immunoassay test that looks for the presence of THC in the body. You will fail in a drug test only if the amounts of drugs in your system exceeds the threshold level set by the federal government.

Does The Use Of CBD Make You Fail In A Drug Test?

The simple answer for this is no. However, if you consume CBD products that contain more than 0.3 % of THC, you may fail in a drug test. Most of the CBD products available today do not contain THC or the amount of THC will be less than 0.3%.  Those who use CBD isolate products or broad-spectrum CBD products do not have to worry about the drug test because both these products are THC-free.

The main reason why the drug tests do not screen for CBD is that it does not create any intoxicating effect and is not in the list of controlled substances. Also, it may be hard to find the presence of CBD in your body with a normal drug test. This is because CBD may not stay in your system for long. If you use CBD in a normal amount, it will stay in your system for 2 or 3 days.

If you are a frequent CBD user or use CBD in high doses, it will stay in your system for a longer period. However, you need not worry as CBD is not screened in a drug test.
